Journey Stories
A Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit
In Cooperation with the Mississippi Humanities Council
Sept. 5 - Oct. 20
Natchez Institute - 108 South Commerce Street
Open daily. Free to the public.
See how evolving mobility changed our nation and how transportation made
us grow. Everyone has a story to tell about journeys, from Native
Americans to enslaved African Americans to new American citizens.
The exhibit tells diverse stories and focuses on immigration, migration,
innovation, and freedom. It uses engaging images with audio and
artifacts to tell the individual stories that illustrate the critical
roles travel and movement have played in building our diverse society. The
exhibit also features a backdrop of Natchez journey stories told through
objects and historic photographs of the city, the river, and its
people.
