Journey Stories is sponsored by the Historic Natchez Foundation and the
INstitute for Southern Jewish life.
The exhibit shows how evolving mobility changed our nation and how
transportation made us grow. From Native Americans to enslaved
African Americans to new American citizens, everyone has a story to tell
about journeys. The Smithsonian exhibit tells diverse stories and focuses
on immigration, migration, innovation, and freedom. It uses engaging
images with audio and artifacts to tell the individual stories that
illustrate the critical roles travel and movement have played in building
our diverse society. The exhibit also features a backdrop of Natchez
journey stories told through objects and historic photographs of the
city, the river, and its people.
